What I would describe as the cold dungeon of the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC), which at times doubles as an art gallery, became quite a warm venue when a variety of literature lovers read excerpts from the works of their favourite authors and poets recited some of their works to the accompaniment of live music last week.

Dulaang UP pays tribute to two literary icons with the staging of Paz Marquez Benitez’s story Dead Stars and Amelia Lapena Bonifacio’s play Sepang Loca. The occasion for this tribute is the centenary of the UP department of English and Comparative Literature and the golden anniversary of the UP department of Speech and Drama.

A systematic literature review of mothers’ experiences with bottle-feeding found that while mothers recognize the benefits of breastfeeding, those who bottle-feed with infant formula do not receive adequate information and support from their healthcare providers and thus, ultimately put their baby’s health at risk.
